LOCATIONS
While the moderators will make up their fair share of locations, we want everyone to feel comfortable exploring and expanding upon the world of Meadowlark. This page will never be definitive as it's meant to be player built more than mod built. We will include any major locations down below that we feel are necessary.
> LIMITATIONS
The only limitations in place in game involve any major corporations - either in New Amsterdam or the world as a whole. All of Meadowlark's fictional corporations factor into the game's greater worldbuild and need to be carefully monitored by the moderators.
Right now, the three big established corporations in New Amsterdam are Pulsar, Vyonation, and Giles Bell. While each of these companies are worldwide operations, their headquarters are in New Amsterdam itself. These are not the only corporations in Meadowlark's world, however.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for these corporations, as well as outlets for opportunities, please contact us on our PLOT ENGAGEMENT POST.
Otherwise, please keep our SETTING PAGE in mind when you comment here. If you introduce a new business, name a park, or even develop a new apartment complex, we want to make sure that it adheres to the limitations of our game. For example: coffee shops exist, but are extremely expensive and only found within high-scale areas like New Amsterdam's financial district. Apartment complexes will largely involve smaller units - anything larger would be out of the range of all of the characters' budgets.
We will only monitor this page for anything that doesn't adhere to the setting, and ask that someone resubmit according to the guidelines of the game itself.
Following our eighth event, characters opened up the world through a fast travel network. Since travel between New Amsterdam and other locations is now much quicker, we have opened up a section below to allow players to begin to create locations outside of New Amsterdam. Please refer to the Outside of New Amsterdam comment for some additional information.

MOD / KEY LOCATIONS

Location: A decrepit part of New Amsterdam that's fallen on hard times. The location itself is an abandoned hover bike repair shop, with all the layout to support that. It hasn't been used for that purpose for some time, however.
Appearance: The entrance to the safehouse is beneath the hover bike shop, far from the entrance so that no one is immediately assumed to be disappearing from view once they enter the location. There's a set of stairs that takes someone downstairs, opening up into a hallway that opens into four different rooms: the medical room, the kitchen, the communal showers, and the sleeping room complete with cots. There is also a mini bar that's regularly stocked, but it's all low quality alcohol.
Other Important Notes: All characters are permitted to come and go from the safehouse after they've been issued an ID. However, weapons and any foreign objects (like a dog, for instance) will be flagged as someone enters the safehouse.

Location: A decrepit part of New Amsterdam that's fallen on hard times. It's the same part of town as the safehouse! Black Bliss is one of the oldest establishments in the city.
Appearance: There is a bright pink neon sign in the front that declares the name of the business in a flourish, cursive lettering. The inside of the bar has dim lighting and a wide selection of hard alcohol, and taps, primarily specializing in both rums and whiskies from all over the world. There's a variety of seating, as well as some standing room when it gets crowded during the service industry rush.
Other Important Notes: This is Gaby's "real life" job. Please contact us on the plot engagement page if you'd like to have your character pay her a visit (either on purpose or purely on accident). We'll be happy to put together a thread for this purpose!

Location: Located in the financial district in a skyscraper that's over 100 floors. They were originally headquartered in the United States in 2150, but moved with the times and was one of the first corporations to take root in the conceptual megacities by 2250. Outside of this large building, Vyonation also has many, many subsidiaries located in New Amsterdam and throughout the world.
Appearance: The logo involves the letters "Vy" with a world behind it. The skyscraper is made of covalently crosslinked polymer, and it reflects the other towers around it as if it's made of glass, but is remarkably unimpressive.
Other Important Notes: Vyonation was originally a telecommunications and media-based company at their inception, but they've expanded into a wide range of industries. However, they are best known for their handling of data security and various internet-based technologies.

Location: Located in the financial district. The building itself looks a little like a 1980s rocket. It has over eighty floors, but expands sprawling horizontally in a campus that surrounds the larger, protruding building.
Appearance: The logo is a field of stars. Not only does the building look like a rocket - it looks like various other long, slender objects, and there are numerous jokes that have been made throughout the last hundred years as they've remodeled but remained true to form.
Other Important Notes: Most recently, they have spearheaded and specialized in the various space ventures and terraforming projects in the solar system through a partnership with many other corporations and the United Nations government. While space exploration and expansion is their main focus, they also fund a large number of movies and video games, as well as manage a popular electric hover car company.

Location: Located at the edge of the financial district near a lot of the most advanced hospitals and medical services. This isn't accidental: they often help and service these locations through a contract with the United Nations government.
Appearance: The logo is a bell symbol with wings. The buildings belonging to Giles Bell are boring in architecture and rote in their appearance - even a little like a hospital with a sleek, metallic look.
Other Important Notes: Giles Bell has specialized in biomedical advancements throughout the last few decades, and worked with Vyonation on a joint project in order to develop and evolve the neural implants that are used in everyone's heads today. The wetware surgery sites are all overseen by Giles Bell subsidiaries.

Location: Near the New Amsterdam Stadium.
Appearance: An old-style sports bar harkening back to the days of old in Detroit, with some car pictures and other Detroit sports paraphernalia. It's a new business, with a safehouse underneath if anyone's drank too much on the job and needs a place to crash. This safehouse is managed and monitored by Morningstar.
Other Important Notes: This is run by Clarke Griffin (
