RULES

> RULES

Meadowlark operates on a three strike policy. One instance of rule-breaking behavior is a strike, and any player who receives three strikes will be banned from the game. Issuing of a strike will always be discussed clearly and directly with the player before they receive it.

> RESPECT & COMMUNICATE

Don't be a dick. Treat your fellow players as you would like to be treated; respect their preferences, don't blur the IC/OOC line, don't powergame, don't infomod, and use clear content warnings for sensitive topics. Harassment, bullying and toxic behavior – even if only exampled in spaces outside of Meadowlark – will not be tolerated, and may result in an immediate ban from the game.

All players are expected to communicate with each other to facilitate the best game environment possible, be it on matters of individual threads or plots, or raising issues and coming to resolutions through mutual flexibility and compromise. To this end, we expect all of our players to be open to feedback, and bimonthly HMD participation is mandatory.

> STAY IN-CHARACTER

While Meadowlark may be a wildly different setting to what your character comes from, all players are expected to keep their characters as true to themselves as possible. No game would be fun without character development, and it is fully encouraged, but it should follow a clear and reasonable progression.

Relatedly, please remember that all IC actions will have IC consequences. Given the nature of Meadowlark as a game, attempts to evade or negate these could potentially be game breaking and therefore will not be tolerated.

> BE ACTIVE

Unless you have submitted a hiatus before the AC period, all players must meet the monthly AC requirements in order to stay in game. These are:

20 comments across 2-4 threads.

If you are unable to meet AC, you can take a strike. Taking an AC strike will mean double AC is required the next month:

40 comments across 3-5 threads.

Failure to meet AC without a hiatus or a strike will result in immediate drop from the game. Failure to respond to the AC post within the AC period will result in immediate drop from the game. Any players dropped through AC (rather than submitting a comment to the HIATUS + DROPS page) will have to wait 2 months before reapplication to the game.

We do not allow consecutive hiatuses, or consecutive hiatuses and strikes. This means that if you have taken a hiatus in one month, you cannot take a strike in the next; or if you have taken a strike in one month, you cannot take a hiatus in the next. Attempts to do this will result in drop from the game.
