Looking at the previous conversation, we believe that some wires were crossed. In the plot engagement thread that you linked, we didn't realize you specifically wanted Jon to spy on gangs. Had we known, we would have been happy to provide further clarity on the feasibility of this plot sooner. As it is, Morningstar does not have an adversarial relationship with the gangs, and wouldn't value spying on them or trying to find out what they're involved with. To provide some more background on that: Before the current trouble started, Morningstar and the gangs did not have much to do with each other, and generally followed a policy of mutual disinterest. There are occasional cases where there were gang contacts to help Morningstar with less legal activity, but these contacts were not aware that they were working with Morningstar. These contacts would've been a part of the file that El had provided the new Morningstar after the assault by the UNA.
Some of the gangs are involved with corporations—Morningstar's focus—but this is viewed by Morningstar as a symptom of the corporate stranglehold over everything rather a problem in its own right. For the most part, however, the gangs—and larger criminal underground—are their own, independent entity, existing separate from all of the corporate corruption in the world. Gang members are also unlikely to frequent bars in neutral territories, especially to talk about Morningstar. Even ignoring the current plot with Caroline, speaking aloud about Morningstar can get anyone in trouble.
As for Jon bartending corporate events, that would definitely be up Morningstar's alley. We're happy to help you develop that into a plot for Jon. We can throw Gaby around to help him get somewhere up the bartender ladder—she's well aware that he's an eager, well-meaning puppy, so she would be happy to help him get a leg up here! If you'd like Jon to be involved with gangs, we recommend you touch base with some of the other characters doing work in that area such as Jason Todd, Kovacs, Caroline, Laura Moon, and Octavia Blake. However, this would not be a Morningstar-adjacent plot!
