He can use things that might help mitigate the effects of nausea and other problems in the short term, but they wouldn't be effective for very long.
As for Billy and Tommy, they can go up by 10% increments every week! Once they get back into New Amsterdam, they can definitely start to get sponsors - though there would be the occasional sponsor who wants them to "advertise" a product for free. How savvy they are about avoiding these horrible deals is up to them! That would just be the first step of sponsors: avoiding predatory attention and showing that they aren't down for that.
