As for hiding it, we'd say the inside of a jacket or under a skirt, using a hilt that's sewed in to both. Again, she'd need to be cautious about where she brings this. Some locations do have metal detectors that would still be able to tell that this is a dagger. Anywhere high end, for instance, would be alerted, while lower end businesses would likely find that kind of security to be costly.
