1. It's certainly not difficult to self-publish and self-promote. Actual publishers have shifted focus more towards being distributors of specific content to niche audiences. Getting a book in with one of these would be difficult as you would expect these days, with more reputable publishers being quite difficult, but not impossible. To gain notoriety, Loki would need some kind of edge, so we would ask that you provide some more information about how he would distinguish himself from other authors, either through content or promotion.

2. Releasing a book under a pseudonym is possible, but these are very easy to track back to a real ID for the dedicated fan. Not to mention Loki wouldn't be able to self-promote since all social media ties to Implant ID. Another benefit of a publisher is increased identity protection for authors, and they also take care of promoting the work.
