Hi Veronica! Thanks for the follow-up questions.

1. Loki would be able to easily buy the smaller parts. While they were sold to the Black Market dealers in a fuller size, breaking them up obviously means that they'll be able to turn a greater profit. Anything larger would begin to price itself out of his range by quite a bit. Depending on how much he's willing to spend, he could get larger parts, but nothing like organs. Most of it would be limbs - things that are more easily obtained, for instance, and there would be some in bulk.

3. The history itself would be similar to why people are developing AI now. It would largely be so that corporations would be able to cheaply employ AI - but there would also be some aspect of humans wanting to play god by creating a sentient being themselves. The latter would have easily motivated the former aspect of things. Xelkov was the company that streamlined these efforts and perfected them for the rest of the world.
