There are no zoos (petting or otherwise) available in New Amsterdam. There are also no cat cafes. While there would be an interest in these kinds of businesses - many people in the Meadowlark world never physically see many animals - they would be exorbitantly expensive to manage due to the high cost of real estate and food suitable for the animals. To stay in the black, the fees these businesses would have to charge would only be affordable to the very rich - who would just purchase pets to keep themselves.
While it's not a complete substitute for the real thing, many people turn to VR for animal interaction, and studies in the Meadowlark world have found that this does have many of the positive impacts we experience from keeping pets in current times!
