1. Korra can feel free to express her interest to El and Gaby (you can feel free to handwave this!), and she will be tapped for tasks and jobs in order to progress in proving herself. Korra can also be proactive and come to them with ideas once she's a member of the organization.

2. With the fire investigation underway, El would recommend that she look into firefighting, as it would provide information and offer her an outlet to help. It would provide on the job training, so she wouldn't have to worry as much about it being her first job!
