Thanks modly ones! This is useful information and it’s helped me figure out which direction to take.
Since Markus will have no issue with building a portfolio from scratch (there is going to be a lot of art in his future now apparently), I think it’s fair to assume he’ll be poking around galleries mostly; he isn’t shy when attempting to make connections or talking to gallery coordinators to try and have a few pieces in a show. That being said, I do have a few quick follow-up questions:
1. Since the only income that realistically is gained from this route is if someone actually expresses an interest in purchasing his art, what is the likelihood of this actually happening? Even if it’s only intermittently? He still has rent to pay, alas.
2. He’d definitely utilize the opportunity of an art gallery hosting live piano music to try to land a nighttime job at an aforementioned exclusive restaurant; an interview wouldn’t intimidate him, but his setlist sure would consist of centuries-old music, what music he’s picked up during his short stay in NA, and a lot of improv. Would this impress them enough to be hired on? (With Morningstar having falsified a few of the past venues he’s played at to back his credibility.)
