CANON UPDATES AND ITEM REQUESTS

> CANON UPDATES

Characters being updated mysteriously vanish at some point unobserved. When they return, they will wake up in their own bed with their new canon memories and any physical changes. They will not have any memory of how they vanished or where they may have been in that time. Players should feel free to use the IC disruption caused by this disappearance to change things up for their character! Or they could just have their friends cover for them.

For a day after returning, they will experience a dull burning sensation in their chest.

New characters are not eligible for a canon update until they're in the game for one OOC month.

To request a canon update for your character, please fill out the form below. Please do not have your character canon update in game until your request is approved.

Characters receiving items will wake up from a normal night's sleep to find themselves mysteriously holding the item. They'll remember nothing notable about their sleep.

Items are limited to one at a time, and they must hold some importance to your character. That means the item in question must be linked to your character in some tangible way.

Items cannot be alive or independently sentient. Items will not be nerfed unless it has a latent connection to your character in some way. If they can mentally teleport it across a room in canon to themselves, for instance, that won't be possible in game. The item will still retain any other properties, however.

Please wait at least one OOC month after your character's arrival in game before making any item requests. Players may only make one item request per character per month.

WHY IS THIS ITEM IMPORTANT TO YOUR CHARACTER? it belonged to his uncle, luke skywalker, which is probably reason enough for him to want it - as a kind of trophy, perhaps - but more specifically it's a relic from a bygone era that kylo himself draws heavy influence from. specifically, the mandalorian wars, which is evidenced in his mask design in tfa as well as his crossguard lightsaber. basically, he's a big nerd.

WHY IS THIS ITEM IMPORTANT TO YOUR CHARACTER? the necklace was intended to be given to daisy by her biological mother, jiaying. it was seized by shield, stolen by her biological father, retrieved by a shield/government operative, and then given to daisy (finally) by her mother in the hopes that she would join their underground operations — and attack shield. though daisy never took her biomom up on the offer, the necklace is still a tangible reminder of what it had meant to find out who she really was, and would be a physical embodiment of the work daisy is doing now in meadowlark to discover her new truths.

ITEM PROPERTIES: The Cloak is technically sentient & actively responds to him so that definitely needs to be nerfed which will take with it the majority of its defensive capabilities. Its basic function is to levitate and enable its user to do the same but I'm perfectly happy for that to be nerfed too if needs be!

After Fitz suffered brain trauma, he couldn't remember the names of tools, so he had 17 carved in the side of the multitool to remember what one resource was called and use that for his work. He carries it with him everywhere, and it proves meaningful enough to him that he later passes it on to his grandson.

In a fit of childish rage he tossed one of them at Dick's head, something they'd done time and time again, and it collided with his temple and knocked him onto a Murder Rock. So these are basically the sticks that ruined his life.

ITEM PROPERTIES: This is a broken watch. Given that I assume watches are a relic in this world, and Clarke would assume the same, she would keep it hidden. She would never bother to have it fixed, as it not working is probably a poetic sign of what it is.
WHY IS THIS ITEM IMPORTANT TO YOUR CHARACTER? When Clarke's father died, he gave her his watch, and Clarke carried it around for the first two seasons of The 100. After Clarke killed everyone in the Mountain, it had less thematic significance because of what she made herself do, but ... essentially, her father is one of the sole Good People in the entire canon, and her carrying the watch was a symbol of that. But it was also a prized possession.

This camera is the one he took with him on his trip with Noctis and the others for the entirety of the game. He's always taking pictures and has it close at hand for any candid pictures. It's the most important and personal belonging he has.

HOW WILL THIS IMPACT YOUR CHARACTER? For the most part, Keith will be far more experienced as a leader. At the beginning of S7, he deals with the fallout of having left his team, as well as having to step into the role and understand how to manage it. He even asks Shiro at one point how he's done it, and Shiro's answer nudges Keith toward knowing that he can fully rely on the other paladins.

Throughout S7, we see Keith's maturity and empathy really play out. He doesn't turn his back on a teammate when he's showing sadness, and he also shows empathy toward an Admiral who betrayed basically everyone because she thought she was doing the right thing. He's determined and unfailing in everything he does, keeping a clear head to keep the team moving forward.

That's not to say he's flawless when it comes to leading. Keith comes to understand that he's better at leading a smaller group rather than a larger one, and he works in tandem with Shiro when he becomes the leader of the Atlas. When needed, he still feels confident enough to lead his team off on his own during S8, but keeps the others in check to try to keep them from being rash.

Coming from 8x10, Keith will be a lot more likely to examine his rashness and the lengths he feels are necessary to pull something off. Though he defends his decisions, Keith is willing to relent in the following episode when told to slow down and process what's going on. It shows a willingness to open his mind and hear others out, as well as keep people from going to potentially dangerous lengths. 8x10 ends with Allura in a coma, after all.

Other than this, Keith is more and more aware of how his decisions impact other people. He's had to see this many times over throughout the course of S7 and S8, so he'll be much more conscientious of this. He's also much more aware of how to give pep talks and reach out to friends. That doesn't make him less awkward, but he verbalizes the things he usually articulates through doing for people, which is a huge step for him when it comes to interpersonal skills. This change will be demonstrative of how conscious of how Keith is with other people, and how he's willing to push himself out of his comfort zone if he cares for someone.

Physically, Keith's hair will return to its long length, where it's nearly hitting his shoulders. (By S8, he's referred to as "the long-haired one.") He'll have a bunch of new scars on his body because he nearly died at the end of S7. It seems that he was the last of the paladins to wake after that final battle.
