Just as a note, due to the nature of Meadowlark's world, it's unlikely that a bar owner would show special preference to women who are down on their luck, and instead would seek to help troubled people of all identities to help them get set up on the right path. While Meadowlark's world is an oft-hypocritical dystopia, there are some socially progressive issues that would lead to fewer situations where women would be singled out for these helpful efforts. (We have a bit about this on the Social Issues on our Setting Page.) We definitely get what you were going for, but these types of protections are likely to include a wider swath of people who are negatively impacted by the broken systems of Meadowlark's world, but in a very different way than you might find today (as women don't face the same discriminatory practices as they do in our modern world).
