hi mods!! this is in regards to the neural implants translation, and it's kind of a two parter. so, drummer speaks lang belta, which is a creole of various earth languages, and she also speaks english. pure lang belta is distinct enough from other languages that it definitely is its own thing, so i assume lang belta would be translated by the neural implant, but when she's speaking english she often peppers in bits and pieces of lang belta in. for example, she swears in lang belta (i.e. "why don't you pashang fong" or "being in charge sucks the big felota"), and often appends her sentences with it (i.e. "it's not that easy, sasa ke?")

my questions ARE:

1. would those snippets of lang belta be translated? some of them are kind of untranslatable without context (i.e. "beltalowda", "inyalowda", "welwala") that i can't imagine the implant would have, and other ones you can get the gist of without needing a translation.
2. more generally, what does it actually look and/or feel like when the implant translates something? on the network i've been reading it as kind of like, when you see a tweet and it's in a different language and then it says 'translate' underneath, but if it's in person, can you tell? does it sound like the other person's voice? do their lips move differently? are you aware that you're hearing translated speech?
