Thank you being willing to nerf all of this, but we've ruled that they would all remain active - and she'd keep her original neural implant alongside with the new one. 🧠🧠 The original neural implant wouldn't be able to connect to any of the world's networks, and if she needed software updates to keep her nanomachines running ... well, she wouldn't be able to get any. She could transfer control of the nanomachines to the new neural implant, but she would need to write a piece of software and come up with a driver to sync up the two (which could be based on the world's technology and nanomachines, but is partly proprietary and medical knowledge).
