I'm worried a power I'm interested in might run too close to a canon power! So I'm seeking some clarification on that.

Rey, in canon, can use the Force. Without getting philosophical, the crux of my conflict is that the Force provides telekinesis to those skilled in wielding it. Moving stuff with her mind.

The power I want to give Rey is gravity manipulation, which at higher levels would be super distinct from the Force in that it might create small pockets of vacuum space or small black holes to suck things towards/into, but I'm worried that lower levels where minor levitation of objects/herself/others (or the anchoring/increasing weight of objects/herself/others) is the obvious starting point would not be distinguishable enough in presentation.

It would obviously feel incredibly different to Rey, but I don't want to stumble through my app only to realize the presentation is not significantly different enough to be acceptable.

TL;DR is gravity manipulation a distinct enough power from telekinesis to be acceptable for a character with canon telekinesis even though they can present the same in some ways? Or should I reach elsewhere?
