hello mods!! i'm thinking about apping this big idiot here and since doctor who canon is so terribly sketchy on what powers the doctor has and what's biologically accurate and what isn't i was wondering if i could just clear up what he'd be coming with and what wouldn't work in-game! i've Enumerated them to hopefully make this easier to answer!

1. both regeneration and telepathic abilities would be nixed since they definitely both fall under 'powers'.

2. i guess his mopey depressing "curse of the time lords" thing he has where he can ~see all of time~ and see alternate paths and things he can change and things he can't would also be nixed? that seems like a game-breaking sort of power and also something completely out of my control anyway.

2a. in canon, the doctor has a lot of esoteric knowledge about the future of the human race and/or earth, but i thought it'd be worth double checking that this is some sort of parallel universe so he'd have no knowledge of anything that's going on in meadowlark since he doesn't have any connection to this universe.

3. BUT what about his non-human biology, for example his two hearts and his secondary respiratory system? alone they just seem like kind of cool things BUT in canon the hearts make him far more robust than a human (in S03E02, he survives what would've been a fatal magical blow for a human because he has two hearts and the witch only thought he had one) and his secondary respiratory system means that he can withstand being choked far longer than a human etc. time lord biology basically makes him far harder to kill than any regular old human and i'm not really sure where this stands with regards to powers.

4. also, this is tangentially related: i was wondering about the sonic screwdriver. ostensibly, it opens doors, but it also does things like scan people and technology and make various beeping noises etc that the doctor can interpret and glean information from. he can also modify it to do a bunch of other things. since it's purely technology and something that he made himself, i figured it would work, but there are some things it can do that seem kind of OP and more like a deus ex machina since it can be so easily manipulated by the writers to close up a plot hole.

5. ANOTHER THING: psychic paper! would this be considered a power in and of itself and therefore be nixed also, or would it still be functional since it's just an item? according to the wiki it works by "show[ing] what the holder of the paper wanted the person reading the paper to see" so that means the person holding it has some degree of control over it. it can be transferred from person to person and used in the same way including by non-powered humans, so it's definitely not the doctor's telepathic/psychic abilities that make it work.

SORRY THIS IS SO TERRIBLY LONG MODS!!
