hey mods, questions abt a minor thing that just occurred to me!! in general, what's the state of accessibility for literature online?

since paper has been phased out, did digital preservation of old texts get more focus? can you get ebook versions of rare books you'd only be able to get in hard copy in 2020, or have many of those been lost entirely? do you still have to pay exorbitant prices for things like journal publications, or are they easier to come by now that education has changed? Can Tomoe Exclusively Read Very Old Literature From Imperial Japan
