Hi Min!

Sorry for the delay! Had to do a bit of research for this one.

Makeup in 2512 largely comes from minerals, with some of the pigments (like red and blue) costing a decent amount of credits. Makeup itself hasn't gone out of style in the least. There are specialty shops—though unlike Sephora (which houses a lot of brands), they tend to specialize in their own brand. These shops can be fairly costly due to their specialization, but they're worth it and work with each of their customers individually to ensure they get what they've come for.

There is training for cosmetology in 2512! That said, businesses like this aren't tailored to specific locations like they might be today, because while the world has strict movement between cities, the megacities in 2512 are more of a hybrid of cultures that have mixed for a long time. For our parts, we use the "old" version of the megacity as inspiration for visuals and capitalistic traditions, but always try to depict a world that's been run by a single government for about 450 years. Hopefully that gives you a clearer idea!

The training itself isn't that different from what it is today: a lot of it is chemistry based and learning about a body's biological responses, and much of that is done online. There is a practical training period that is done via VR at first, before then transitioned to a more hands on policy. Certification depends on how much time is devoted to it—if someone wants to complete the program quickly and knows the information well, they can speed through it. But someone could also be forced to work a day job and only able to do the scientific and practical VR training on the weekends, which means it would take longer. Training and certification programs depend a lot on being able to prove knowledge, rather than the amount of time spent in a virtual classroom.
